Layoff Blues

Well kids, I got hit for the second time in three years with the layoff bug today; I can't really say from where, but if you follow the tech headlines or blogs like TechCrunch, you can probably guess. At least I have 119 companions in this situation. Soooooo, if anybody out there knows of a place that needs a good writer, one with a background in technology, new media, blogging, web content development, information architecture, etc., do please drop me an email.

Sorry about the layoff. Nothing currently with my company but I'll keep my eyes open.

Condolences, with your skills I'm sure you will bounce back quickly.
That internal memo was some shite, but I have never worked for a company like that, guess it is standard. Try getting high off some cat pee for the day? Sorry, some recent South Park humor.
Best of luck,
Jim

yeah sorry to hear that. no openings in my firm either. but you got skillz man. the last time i was laid off (well, the only time i was laid off) i went back to grad school. that might not be a bad idea presently.

Well, see, I already have this PhD, so it's kinda hard for me to imagine going back to school AGAIN. I've thought about it, but I really don't know what I would go back to school for at this point. I do think it might be time for a career change, I'm just not sure what direction to point myself in.

hey, yah, that sux about the layoff. Oh well, it's always an opportunity to figure out the next phase of your professional life.

In terms of career change, i guess making it music-oriented is simply...not very likely? or profitable? Cuz that'd be kinda nice...
